A telepsychiatry link with a tertiary care center has permitted rural nursing home residents to receive mental health consultations and follow up on a weekly basis for several years. This presentation provides a qualitative overview of the providers’ experience, addresses the practical challenges faced in establishing and maintaining such a service, and suggests strategies aimed at improving its success.
