Objective: The aim of undertaken studies was to compare rate of progression in the mild cognitive impairment and to identify predictors of further cognitive decline.
Design: Study was based on five years of observation. Individuals enrolled in studies received annual clinical and psychometric examinations.
Materials and Methods: 41 subjects with mild cognitive impairment. MCI was recognized based on Reiberg criteria.
Results: Only increased rate of cognitive decline, based on ADAS-cog noted in first year of observation, was connected with the risk of Alzheimer's disease.
Conclusion: Rate of progression should be included to diagnostic criteria of mild cognitive impairment.
