Location: Governors Hall I & V (Radisson Riverfront Hotel)
(Please check final room assignments on-site).
Session Description: SESSION BACKGROUND: Imaging systems are important tools for surgeons to visualize physiological features and assist medical professionals with planning surgical procedures. Managing medical device information for government and corporate requirements can become a complicated process due to the quantity and diversity of information collected. SESSION FOCUS: This session will explain recent advances in computed tomography (CT) for increased spatial resolution and small volume feature resolution, as well as a new real-time device for measuring intramedullary canal size and shape for optimum hip stem press-fit. In addition, presentations will be given about new electronic methods to more efficiently manage materials information regarding test data, risk analysis, influence of process change, design impact, and dissemination of data. SESSION TAKEAWAYS: This session will provide an overview of recent developments imaging systems for medical applications and new electronic materials management systems specifically designed for professionals in the medical device industry.
