| ISEC5: Micro/Nanoscale Tribology | ||||
| Location: Governors I (Radisson Riverfront Hotel) | ||||
| (Please check final room assignments on-site). | ||||
| Session Description: This session provides a forum for fundamental and applied research involving micro/nanoscale tribological phenomena. This research area encompasses 1) nanoscale tribological materials/coatings design; 2) investigations that elucidate physical and chemical phenomena associated with tribology at small length scales; and 3) extending knowledge obtained at the micro/nano length scales to understand and/or tribological phenomena at larger length scales. Topics include tribology of nanostructured materials and ultra-thin films/coatings, advanced materials and coatings(adaptive and self-healing coatings, nanostructured materials). These topics provide the foundation for realizing technologically relevant nanotribological systems while offering insight into designing tribologically superior systems at larger scales. | ||||
